BAD COPYWRITING IN LOCAL AD

The ad above was produced by RoboVac;  The distributor of a robotic vacuum cleaner. The ad, which has now been taken down, has been described as “insensitive”, “demeaning,” and “very disturbing to the feeling of the people and nation” by Indonesia.

SUGGESTION FOR THE NEW COPYWRITING FOR ROBOVAC:

Clean starts here.
No more heavy vacuums. No more hassle with a cord.
We are your key to clean.

Too often I read or see ads that, sadly, someone paid a lot of money to produce, and sound ‘ad-like,’ but make no sense at all. Sometimes clarity is sacrificed in the name of supposed creativity. This should not have to be a choice. Being clear means being truthful, authentic, accurate and understood. Settle for nothing less.

The ad above was produced by Kopi Kelapa Dara company and published on December 2016.
SUGGESTION FOR THE NEW COPYWRITING FOR KOPI KELAPA DARA:
Naturally effective

The instant you need help
Natural relief, instantly

While it may not be appropriate for a medically-based topic, other X-rated content can be fun, if you let it. When you get ready to write something sexy, don’t be afraid to think outside the box but not too much you exaggerate things.

MY OPINION ON GOOD AND BAD COPYWRITING ON WEBSITE

“INNOCENT DRINK” GOOD COPYWRITING

Good copywriter sells products, but great copywriter turns simple products into a great experience. I think Innocent Drink produced a good copywriting in their website ad which succeed to attract people to read it. They associate a simple drink with a holiday feel. By mixing facts and emotion – a persuasive recipe. One of my favourite ad from Innocent Drink which has a good copywriting for me is
“There are time when you fancy a bit of extra sparkle with your refreshment. So allow us to introduce innocent bubbles tropical – a delicious, lightly sparkling blend of pure pineapple, orange and grape juice, spring water and absolutely nothing else. It’s a bit like a posh holiday in a can., only without the pesky sand. And with one portion of fruit and only 90 calories per serving, it’s the bubbly way to get one of your 5-a-day.

“LEGO” BAD COPYWRITING

Lego once produced a bad copywriting for their website. Just look at the picture above. This is a pretty dull description for a company that manufactures children’s toys, don’t you think? An introduction, middle, and end would be ideal. They could still keep it short, sweet, and to the point, while including a better flow and a little background information. This would give the reader a better sense of what they’re all about.
The copy is attempting to show the limitless mind of a child, and that what that mind is thinking often only makes sense to that child. But. The ads are not enjoyable. They could have been written in the same scattershot style, and made sense. Good concept, poorly executed. As (almost) always, copy should be shorter.
Could've got the same point across in half the space and had room for shot of one of the characters from the paragraph at the end to tie it back into the block at the beginning -- what starts with one block, ends with this awesome creation.

MALAYSIA'S TOURISM ADVERTISEMENT

Map of Malaysia

Located in Southeast Asia, Malaysia has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world not to forget the collection of unrivaled rainforests and national parks. Malaysia exists on two sides of South China Sea, split into Peninsular Malaysia which covers the southernmost point of Eurasia and Malaysian Borneo (East Malaysia), which is on the island of Borneo. Malaysia borders four countries that are Thailand, Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia.
Malaysia is a multi-ethnic and multicultural country because half of the population is made up of Malays, while the other half consists of Chinese, Indian, Aboriginal background, as well as other indigenous people. Malaysia faces strong competition to attract foreign tourists from other countries of Southeast Asia; the tourism heavyweight Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore pushing up, and the underrated newcomers, the Philippines, Vietnam and Myanmar. However, “Tourism Malaysia” – the government unit in charge of tourism in Malaysia, brilliantly keeps up to maintain the country’s attractiveness.

Malaysia’s tagline image
"Malaysia, Truly Asia" has been chosen as the tagline as it defines the important qualities of the country's unique diversity. It sums up the distinctiveness and attraction of Malaysia that make it an excellent tourist destination. There is only one place where all the colors, flavors, sounds and sights of Asia come together – Malaysia. No other country has Asia's three major races, Malay, Chinese, Indian, plus different other ethnic groups in large numbers. Nowhere is there such exciting diversity of cultures, special celebrations with fun events, traditions and customs, offering many experiences.
Malaysia has been using the tagline for more than 10 years; as ‘Malaysia Truly Asia’ made as an effort to boost tourism and improve the country’s economy. The campaign presents different things to see and do in Malaysia each year, and always uses the “Malaysia Truly Asia” tagline. “Malaysia Truly Asia” tagline has been set in in the public’s concern and proven to be effective as part of Tourism Malaysia’s marketing campaign. Tourist’s arrival in Malaysia has also been increasing from 2011 to 2014. However in 2015, Malaysia has dropped around two million tourists compared with 2014. Tourism and culture Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz has said in a written parliamentary that a total of 25.7 million tourists came to Malaysia in 2015 as in 2014, a total 27.4 million tourist came to Malaysia. It may not be a drastic drop but it sure affects the economy of the nation itself.
